We have established the Jonathan Pecoraro Memorial Scholarship to honor a young man whose life is an inspiration to those aspiring to be their best self. In his short 21 years, Jonathan accomplished extraordinary achievements despite many personal challenges. Soon after graduating from John Jay High School in Fishkill, NY, he owned and operated M&S Power Equipment in Wappingers Falls. He secured his position at M&S Power Equipment through a contact while he was in high school. He lived and was working toward owning his own home on Lake Walton Road in Hopewell Junction—another milestone he set his sights on and, through hard work and ambition, was within his grasp.
But what truly set Jonathan apart was not just his accomplishments, but how he valued the people in his life: his family, his friends, and people in the community. His genuine empathy, kindness, and commitment to their best interest were his gift to all of them. This scholarship will be awarded to a student from John Jay High School—someone who reflects Jonathan’s perseverance, work ethic, and genuine care for others.
Our goal of 25K will establish a professionally managed scholarship fund that will continue in perpetuity, supporting students like Jonathan who add value to their community. We would be deeply grateful for your contribution in helping to not only celebrate Jonathan, but also ensure that Jonathan’s name and his example survive his untimely passing.
