In loving memory of Jon

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Jonathan Mayo. Jon was a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed. He touched the lives of so many strangers, friends, family, and even our beloved dogs. We lost a beautiful soul in this world. So in memory of Jon, we are raising money for Beyond Rescue.

2022 has been an extremely difficult year for our family. Our 14-year-old dog, Gunnar, passed away in March, and shortly after, Jon was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Gunnar was my surrogate when I was away from San Francisco (before I moved here). Jon and Gunnar’s bond was unbreakable. So when Gunnar passed away, Jon lost part of himself. When he got diagnosed with cancer, I decided that he needed a guardian angel to help him heal from this disease. So in May, we decided to adopt another dog from a rescue organization called Beyond Rescue. A fluffy little angelic dog that we appropriately named Rafael (or Rafa for short). Rafael (Raphael) is a biblical name for the “Archangel of Healing”. For 5 months, Rafa never left Jon’s side. He understood his job very well and provided Jon with lots of happiness and joy throughout this difficult journey. I’m glad Rafa joined our family as I feel like a piece of Jon was left behind for us.

The whole donation amount will be donated to Beyond Rescue so they can continue saving dogs that will bring happiness to other families.
