Jonathan & Mauricio Honeymoon Trip

Once Jonathan got married, we immediately started thinking about wedding gifts to celebrate this wonderful couple. Jonathan has politely declined any gifts, but it did slip out that he was planning to take Mauricio to Disneyland (he's never been!). So, in lieu of traditional gifts, we thought we could get together with all of you and send Jonathan and Mauricio on a lovely weekend at Disneyland to enjoy the happiest place on earth!

(The happy couple's love story - according to Jonathan):
Mauricio and I met last summer when I was vacationing in Mexico. He was a friend of a friend -- a group of my buddies from Sac were visiting and "Mau" was generous enough to play host. We immediately developed a bond that, while unexpected given the language and distance barriers, was undeniable and powerful. We continued to see each other after the trip and started dating long-distance.
Mauricio was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer a couple months after we started dating. Since then we have been through 3 rounds of chemo/radiation and are currently on a 4th round. His treatment has been difficult but he is strong and has lots of living left to do, so we take it a day at a time and hold out hope for the best. He has held onto his attitude despite everything and is stubborn to the core, and for that I celebrate. He is also the best Spanish teacher ever -- unlimited free personal tutoring!
Mau and I got married in early January. By that point we had already been though so much and had already made a commitment to each other, in sickness and in health, regardless of where the journey might take us. So we thought, why not put a shiny ring on it? Best decision I've ever made.
