We are forever grateful to have had our hearts warmed by (in our eyes) the most endearing soul our community has been fortunate enough to get to know. Jonathan Henderson, our dear friend, instructor, and integral member to our community has passed away.
Hendo fearlessly went out of his way, above and beyond, to better our entire dance community. He was always there, early and late, to welcome new and old faces as well as share his zeal for musical expression. For the past several years he volunteered on the Capital Blues committee and dutifully organized volunteers for Red Hot Blues n BBQ as well as Thursday Night Back Room Blues. In committee meetings, we often became stuck on a decision, and after being quiet for a spell Hendo would be there there to guide our way forward.
With our lighthouse put out, we as a group are lost in a sea of tears. A truly bright and rising star has left us, and Hendo -- we will be forever thankful you blessed us with your presence. Please save us a dance wherever you are in heaven.
Our collective hearts go out to his fiance, Michelle, and his entire loving family. Let us come together to support Hendo by helping his family lighten the burden and showing them how many lives he has touched.
