Twenty years ago, we met Jonathan while working at the Canadian Pavilion in Epcot at Walt Disney World. We were a young group, traveling from different parts of the country to come together for the turn of the millennium celebration. We knew we were part of something special, but we also knew we were going to leave with something even more special: Friendship! Friendships that would last for a lifetime, and that is what brought us here today.
The outreach of love, kindness and support for our dear friend has been overwhelming to say the least. Jonathan was hesitant to even put himself out there and share his story, but that soon changed as the love poured in and chances of finding a liver donor increased. Jonathan's story has been featured on the news and radio and continues to be shared all over social media, spreading knowledge for his unfortunate circumstance as well as others who share his pain. We have noticed that one consistent comment has been: “I am not the right blood type, but I want to help. How can I help Jonathan?” --- This is where Treena and I come in.
Over the last couple of years, Jonathan’s health has worsened, heavily impacting his ability to work. He has consistently been in and out of the hospital and his end-stage-liver-disease put him on the transplant list last year. With your already incredible support of spreading his story, it's only a matter of time that a donor is found. It is unknown just how long it will be before Jonathan will be able to work again, as the recovery time is different for all transplant recipients and he will be temporarily relocating to Edmonton for the surgery and extensive recovery period. With the already huge amount of stress that Jonathan and his tightly-knit family have gone through, we would love for them not to have the additional stress and worry of finances during this time. This goes for both Jonathan and his incredible selfless future donor. We want to honour and support them both and recognize the huge sacrifice that such a gesture represents.
Over 10,000 people have shared Jonathan’s posts on social media. If you cannot donate, all we ask is that you take a moment to post this link on your social media. Any share or donation would mean the world to us.

We cannot wait for the day when the only thing Jonathan has to worry about is planning his wedding!
