Jonathan Barton Funeral & Memorial Fund

Hello to all of Jonathan Barton's friends, colleagues and loved ones. We are heartbroken to announce that Jon unexpectedly and shockingly passed away in his home on July 22, 2022. He was only 44 years old.

Jon had the knack of touching the lives of all who knew him. His favorite thing to do was bring laughter and joy to others. You likely have memories of Jon doing crazy, amazing things to make you smile. He was also thoughtful, sensitive, and generous. He loved giving to others and making their days brighter. Jon’s service in the Army further shows his desire to help people and to honor others above himself. We miss him so greatly.

One of the defining things about him was his love for his children Kaitlynn (22), Tyler (14), and Jacob (12). Almost everyone who came into contact with him immediately heard stories and bragging about his kids!

As you can imagine, his family was not at all prepared for the financial burden that comes along with this terrible situation. That is why I am reaching out to you all in hopes that you'll support what Jon loved most in life - his kids - by supporting this fundraiser. So you know exactly where your donation will be used, we are planning cremation and a memorial event that will give everyone the opportunity to share their stories and love for Jon. For those who want to help, initial contributions here and through Venmo (@Emilee-Fox-2) will help offset cremation and memorial costs. Every little bit helps. Here's where your money will go:

$2,500 - Cremation and associated costs

$2,500 - Memorial event costs

The remaining requested funds will help support Jon's three children through the upcoming years. The total raised after cremation and memorial costs will be split evenly between all 3 children. As his legal next of kin, Kaitlynn will have full and immediate access to her portion. Tyler and Jacob's portions will be placed into a college fund or similar account for their exclusive use in the future. Their accounts will be managed by their mother until they reach legal age.
