This project began out of a performance collaboration between musician Gregory Bortnichak and choreographer Mathew Heggem, blending live music and movement to explore the convergence of the natural and the artificial.
Out of that performance grew the idea for a film—beginning with a music video, “Jonah,” created in collaboration with videographer Kady Everpetal, choreographer Emma Batman, and Seattle-based dancers Maya Mohr, Esther Herzog, and Isabelle Wroblewski.
This music video became the foundation for a larger vision: a full-length experimental dance film expanding on the same themes of rebirth, nature, technology, and transformation. Having completed and submitted the music video to several film festivals, our creative team is now ready to embark on the next phase of this project.
The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward artist fees, studio and equipment rental, and production costs for site-specific rehearsals, filming, and editing.
