After a New Baby, a Young Father Battling Cancer

Jonah and Ushma found each other and fell in love during the global pandemic. When they married just a year later, their future together felt limitless, and their happiness only grew with the birth of their son.

After just 8 weeks of joy with their new baby, severe pain sent Jonah to the emergency room and revealed a devastating diagnosis of Stage 4 colorectal cancer with metastasis.

On the heels of celebrating new life, he’s now battling for his own.

Jonah, the co-founder of Rhythmic Mind, a non-profit that helps youth process trauma through hip-hop music and verse, has built his life around giving and showing up for others; and now he and his family are the ones who need support as they shoulder the financial, physical, and emotional burden of navigating healthcare and childcare in a fraught system.

Chemotherapy is already in progress, and Jonah is ready to FIGHT for his life and his family.
