Hello all, my name is Jonah I'm a 14-year-old freshman at the Cobb Innovation and Technology Academy, and I can really use your help. I recently applied, interviewed, and was accepted into the prestigious Harvard Debate Council Diversity Project. This is an incredible opportunity that included 6 intense rounds of interviews to be accepted. This is a year-long program starting in August, which will occupy 5 hours each Saturday for the next year. I will be expertly trained by Harvard faculty in sociology, philosophy, rhetoric, research, public speaking, and debate. The program culminates in a 2-week residency at Harvard University in Cambridge MA where I and my cohorts will participate and compete in an international debate workshop and competition. Our program has competed with students all over the globe and has won the end competition for 5 consecutive years!! All this comes with a costly tuition bill totaling $12,000. I have received a scholarship covering all but the remaining $3,000. These funds are used directly towards tuition and fees. I am asking all who will support young black achievement and excellence to please give. No gift is too big or too small.
