Jon Zurek's COVID Funeral

Donation protected
Amid all the tragedy brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is particularly cruel that this virus seems determined to take someone as wonderful as Jon from this world far before his time. When the love of his life for 35 years was confirmed to have the virus on February 4th, Jon was only concerned about giving her the proper care and treatment, he told his family that he loved her and she makes him 'feel all known and all forgiven'. Thankfully, Patti has since mostly recovered and no doubt it is in part thanks to Jon's attentiveness. Unfortunately this vicious virus would respond by infecting Jon and punishing his devotion with terrible affliction.

Jon was hospitalized on February 11 and remains hospitalized to this day. He is totally undeserving of the torture he has endured. When the spectre of his death appeared to him and he was convinced he was out of time, his only concern was that he did not prepare his wife for a life without his material support. It is profoundly sad because it would be impossible to prepare anyone around him for a world without all the strength and support he provides in many forms. Jon's health is currently still very dire, but he is consistently showing signs of improvement. His family is endlessly optimistic that he will make a full recovery but at this moment nothing is certain.

Jon has been a fixture in the South Haven community for decades. His generosity, positivity, and pure friendliness has touched the lives of thousands. As a devoted husband and father he has always put others first and worked hard to serve his community. From his time serving his Country in the Navy, his devotion to Saint Basil Church and the Knights of Columbus, his productivity as a master machinist for Lovejoy, and time growing the Michigan economy as owner of Mach1 Machine and Tool, Jon has always lived by solid principles like hard work and selflessness. The world is a better place and countless lives are richer by having Jon.

This fundraiser has been created by Jon's family, recognizing that there are people in the community who would enthusiastically repay his kindness with their monetary support. We are hoping for ten thousand dollars to cover the cost of his treatment and help with his expenses while he is unable to work and fighting for his life. Contributions will help to ease his mind which is focused still on providing for his family. What is given today will lighten his burden and no doubt help him in his recovery.
