Help John turn the lights on
Donation protected
UPDATE: Turning donations back on. Some people have tried to donate but we paused donations once the amount we needed was reached between the GoFundMe and donations made directly. They have enough to pay the bill but can still use some cushion to replace food that had to be discarded and to help make up some lost funds while John was staying with us and unable to go to work.
TLDR: We are trying to raise funds for my father-in-law, John Dupre. He has fallen behind on his bills and needs help getting his power turned back on. Please contribute what you can, and thank you.
The Epic Version:
John lost his wife, Cheryl 6 years ago. As one can imagine, putting things in order is always a challenge, but eventually, things got better. John’s daughter, Melissa, son Jason, grandson Isaiah, and granddaughters Candace and Sandy decided to do something bold, and at the time beneficial to all by moving in to a home all together, selling John and Cheryl’s old home to help finance this. Unfortunately Melissa passed away suddenly and unexpectedly after they had gotten established in the home. She was the main financial contributor to the household. Now, John is left as the primary financial contributor, and at the age of 73, he doesn’t bring in enough income to maintain the house, despite holding a regular job.
We are asking for help. John has tried every public assistance program that we know of, and it hasn’t worked out. We are not going to stop trying, but in the meantime, he needs power.
Yes. He is trying to sell the house. It needs some work, and so far the offers have been less than what he owes on the mortgage.
