My nephew Jon and his wife Caitlin are parents to Jaina (almost 2) and Alek (2 months). They were both so thankful to welcome baby Alek to their family this past Thanksgiving Day; what a blessing. And as soon as the joy set in, so did the reality that Jon’s Testicular cancer had metastasized and was now in his lungs. In 2022, Jon was diagnosed with testicular cancer and over the summer had surgery to remove it in the hopes that his cancer diagnosis would be behind him and his beautiful young family. Sadly, the cancer has now metastasized to his lungs and while he was awaiting the results of a PET scan and chemo treatment to start, on Monday, January 23rd, he was unfortunately checked into the hospital and put on oxygen due to severe complications with his lungs. Now he is currently too weak, and his lungs are too fragile to start chemo, and we are all praying for his strength to return quickly so he can start this critical treatment. This is where you can make a difference in the lives of this well-deserving, well-loved family. I am calling all family and friends to help if you have the ability to. Jon and Caitlin are both hardworking individuals raising a very young family. Jon works full-time in the accounting field and Caitlin normally works part-time in health care. They normally make enough to care for their children and enjoy a modest lifestyle, but do not have the ability to navigate this financial burden. Due to the birth of Alek and Jon being sick, Caitlin has not returned to work yet. Jon is their sole provider at this time and with medical bills mounting, and Jon in the hospital, our family is organizing this go-fund-me account in the hopes that we can help these two through this unimaginable time. This family’s faith and the closeness of their family are what is currently keeping them positive. We are asking for LOTS OF PRAYERS first, and then if you have been blessed with good health and the resources to assist, PLEASE do so now. Thank you for reading Jon and Caitlin’s story and even if you don’t have the ability to assist financially, please ask everyone you know to pray, knowing that will make a difference too. NOTE: for those that may not know, Jon is my sister Eleanor's (aka Katherine) son.
