This morning, everything changed in the most heartbreaking way.

My daughter Olivia and her father, John Annis, lost their home in a sudden fire. In a matter of moments, their entire world was taken from them—the place they felt safe, everything they had built, and all of their belongings. They made it out safely, and for that we are so deeply thankful, but they were left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. They also had no insurance on the house, garage or tractor that Jon helped the community keep their driveways cleaned from the snow.

What makes this loss even more devastating is that Olivia lost both of her beloved cats in the fire. She is completely heartbroken. They weren’t just pets—they were part of her family, her comfort, and her everyday life. The pain of that loss is unimaginable.

Their car was also destroyed, and because it only had PLPD insurance, there is no coverage to help replace it. They are now facing the overwhelming reality of starting over with absolutely nothing.
