Jom Jaga Malaysia: COVID Relief Fund for Malaysia

Donation protected

Malaysia is in dire need of your help right now. With more than 20,000 cases daily and a 7-day average death of 260+, the 3rd wave of COVID (Delta Variant) has severely affected the small nation. Many have been out of work for months.

Due to the extreme prolonged financial hardship faced,  those who rely on daily wages have unable to afford basic necessities (e.g. groceries, baby food). Many have also been left homeless on the streets, scourging garbage for food, and dying of COVID on the streets.

The dire straits have also forced many to resort to suicide as they see no end to their suffering.

Malaysians In Canada, with the support of the Malaysian Association of Canada, have come together to raise funds to purchase groceries and essential supplies for families who have passed the threshold of extreme hardship with no ability to feed their children or themselves. Every cent collected from this donation will go towards families and individuals who need the most support.

Groceries and basic necessities provided to these families and individuals may include, but are not limited to: Rice, bread, eggs, milk powder, cooking oil, salt, biscuits, instant noodles, canned goods, vegetables. Additional items for donation may include feminine supplies and medicine for the elderly or sick.

The funds will go directly to small charities (identified by members of Malaysians In Canada) working directly with the needy.
Although organized by Malaysians In Canada, we're calling on all Malaysians globally to help.

Charities we're currently channeling our funds to: (we'll be adding more to the list!)

1) Kembara Kitchen - https://www.facebook.com/kembarakitchen/

Kembara Kitchen is a local soup kitchen that frequently gives out food to the homeless and hungry. Since COVID, they have ramped up their efforts in providing for the needy. Check out their Facebook page for the latest updates.

3) Uncle Kentang - https://unclekentang.com/

Uncle Kentang started his charitable works before the pandemic, with a focus on providing the needy with food and medical care.
In this dire time, Uncle Kentang has been focusing on saving lives - bringing COVID patients in time to the hospitals to reduce the rate of "rought in dead".

4) Kechara Soup Kitchen - https://www.facebook.com/KSKPage

Kechara Soup Kitchen is a charitable NGO giving out free food to the homeless and free food ration to the poor while also empowering the unemployed with skill-sets.

Your contribution may be "small" to you but know that your contribution signifies hope to these families. No contribution is too small.

Every cent of your contribution will go towards helping these families and individuals in one way or another.

On behalf of Malaysians In Canada, we sincerely thank you for your contribution.
