Jolie Kabera's Surgery and Recovery

Jolie is a 17 year old student living in Rwanda. A good student and and even kinder person who was the victim of an assault February 8th while at her school. It happened after recess, when an overzealous administrator began pushing the students (who he thought were not moving quickly enough) toward the cafeteria and for reasons still not understood, decided to use a baton to aggressively corral the teenagers. Jolie had her back turned to the commotion when she suddenly felt a crack on her back and her body went limp. She fell to the ground unable to move. Her friends carried her to her room. An hour later they carried her to the local hospital where she was told that her spinal cord was damaged. She has since been moved to Kigali and admitted to King Faisal, the main hospital, where she has been diagnosed with a severely bruised spine that will require her to miss the entire semester of school as she still cannot walk or sit. We have hired an attorney and the local authorities investigated and then arrested the administrator but the school is not paying for any medical bills or the ensuing rehabilitation and physical therapy. Jolie is not a student with our charity We Are Limitless  but her sister Clarisse is the manager of Lavana , our restaurant in Kigali, and Jolie has helped her sister at the restaurant during the pandemic.

So Clarisse is reaching out to anyone who would like to help this wonderful young lady with what is likely to be a very long recovery.
