In early May of 2023, Joleen had a stroke, pneumonia and was battling against extreme liver disease (cirrhosis). Which lead to her to be anaemic. Since the first stroke she has experienced a few more and had a rare side effect to a staten medication which resulted in her getting neurosis which made her muscles deteriorate into liquid. She’s been on steroids and insulin to counteract the muscles to not paralyze her permanently. Luckily, she is slowly gaining weight and muscle, however other complications have happened. Bleeding, infections, and coming close to nearly dying a few times. Fluid was building up around her heart, causing her kidneys to shut down and pressure to build up. Without a functioning liver more health problems are accumulating day by day. She desperately is search of a liver transplant sooner than later. Joleen needs a specialty hospital or she’ll have to go home under hospice care in Nome.
