Joker's Homecoming
Joker is coming home, and we're going to get him started with safe housing, food, clothing, and other necessities.
After a false arrest during a march this summer, Joker has spent the last several months in jail, away from his friends, family, and community. He will be released this March, and to make sure he has the environment he needs to thrive, we're raising money for his rent and other necessities to cover the next 3 months.
Joker has long been a (painted) face of the New York community and has fought tirelessly in the Black Lives Matter movement as an activist and organizer. You may have met Joker at Washington Square Park, or at Occupy City Hall a.k.a Abolition Park where his light, energy, and sense of humor were unmatched.
The carceral system continues to oppress those that encounter it, and Joker is no exception. His time in jail has been difficult, and we're asking the greater activist community to share his story, and for our friends all over the country to redistribute their wealth by making a mutual aid donation to support him.
Your donation will cover the following:
-Rent
-Food
-Clothing
-Transportation to legal appointments
-Acquiring identification and important documents that were not returned to him after his arrest
-Mental health care
-Daily necessities
Thank you for your support!
