Jojo's Surgery: A Friend in Need
Donation protected
Jojo has been my rock the last 1.5years. Its been challenging to see her in pain the last few years. She underwent an ACL repair on her left leg last July and recovered marvelously. As everyone already knows, vet bills are ridiculously high. I've paid for multiple surgery consultations these last 12 months which are $90-$250 each. I've done 3 sets of x-rays for pre-op's and post op which are $470- $600 each time. I'm still paying off her surgery from last year, which I had to finance through Wells Fargo. Jojo is currently restricted from long walks and running as now her right ACL needs repaired and is in pain and limping for days if I let her run and be wild, as she should! I'm grateful for the temporary pharmaceuticals like gabapentin and carprofen (doggy ibuprofen) to help get her through to surgery. Last year in Snohomish and King County I got a quote for $8000 and one for $6300, we went with the cheaper of course. I have now branched out to seek a better quote for next surgery, we got a quote from Snoqualmie Ridge Veterinary Hospital for $5400. I've also been recommended to inquire with Washington State University in Pullman, which they have consultations available in 2 months.
I figured I'd humble myself and ask for some doggy donations. My goal is to get Jojo set up for surgery in the next few months, sooner, if possible.
Jojo and I currently live in a one-bedroom apartment in Marysville. She makes for an amazing roommate, unfortunately I'm the only one paying bills around here!! ;)
Finacial back story/ update: I am a Medical Assistant and absolutely love my job field. Sadly, surviving off a single income is near impossible at this time. To be honest, I live paycheck to paycheck, I don't qualify for any benefits like discounted PUD or food stamps, and I won't be able to refinance my old residence for a few more weeks (which will help my debt to income ration soon).
I was hoping in honor of my 35th birthday (April 21st) maybe my friends and family would like to assist in any way shape or form in attempts to help with this financial burden and for Jojo to get on the road of recovery.
Respectfully and with lots of love,
Sara & Jojo
