In Honor of JoJo Szilagyi
JoJo left us on February 11, 2025. It was quite sudden, unexpected, and far too soon. His loving parents, Joe and Debbie Szilagyi, as well as his brothers, Phillip and Max, are devastated by his loss. His aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends will dearly miss this young man. As will his beloved furry companion, Smokey.
JoJo was a kind man. He was the kind of gentleman that gave you an arm to hold onto while on a slippery walkway, open a door for you, or just light up your day with one of his sweet, sheepish smiles.
JoJo was a responsible outdoorsman. Whether hunting or fishing he was always properly and proudly licensed. We were all stopped by the DNR once while fishing, he was helping his little cousins with their lines and bait. He made sure we cleaned up other's trash from the area we were fishing. He was a sweet big cousin and an environmental champion in his own rights.
He loved spending time on the family 'farm' down in Turkey Run. Hunting, fishing, working the property, bonfires, and of course family time.
He is now at peace. No more struggles. Flying high on angel’s wings.
We asked for help covering his final expenses and a whole community of family and friends have come forward. Thank you for helping our family, whether through prayers, calls, visits and/or financial contributions.
A Celebration of Life is planned for April 12, more details to follow in his obituary. Please consider joining us for a meal and drinks. Come share your JoJo pictures & stories and celebrate this young man.
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference."
