A New Chapter for Our Family

Matthew has two chronic medical conditions: hydrocephalus and Chiari malformation. These both impact his brain and brain function.

The last two years have been increasingly difficult for him.

These medical conditions impact him holistically. He has been having increased challenges physically, cognitively and neurologically. The chronic nature of his condition has also taken an incredible emotional toll on him.

We've been working with a variety of doctors to provide him relief but not seeing improvement.

As his only caregiver, I'm doing everything I can, and have had to devote my full energy and time to finding a solution. This has impacted my ability to work more than part time.

Matthew currently is receiving medical supports in NC. He was originally treated at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I need to take him back to Children's Hospital to be evaluated and for a second opinion. They are not currently on my insurance.

Any funds donated would go directly towards Matthew's medical expenses for this trip and travel expenses.

This trip could lead to an extended stay with extensive testing, depending on what his neurosurgeon determines is needed.

It is difficult to ask for help in this way, but my boy is in great need and I'll do anything for him.
