This GoFundMe Page has been set up to provide some financial support to Cyril Fitzpatrick and his family.

If you are visiting this page, you are probably aware that Cyril had a liver transplant on 13 October 2023. It was a miracle that he came through that - the surgery took 12 hours, he lost 18 litres of blood, got septic shock, was in a coma for 19 days and his organs needed huge support. He spent one month in ICU, had to learn a lot of basic things again such as walking and talking etc. He got home to his family after over 100 days in hospital to be readmitted one week later due to chronic liver rejection.

He is now awaiting an urgent second transplant in the UK, has had a number of trips over and back and is receiving ongoing treatment in the UK.

He is constantly fighting infections including some very serious life threatening ones. Cyril is still fighting hard every day and keeping the spirits up for everyone. He is so determined to get through this and has had fantastic support from his family. They have all been through such a journey together these last number of months and face a rollercoaster of emotions every other day but remain positive and determined.

Anyone who has been unfortunate enough to have a family member in hospital for any period of time will know just how expensive it is.

Cyril and his wife, Michelle, are two of the most generous people I know. When members of my own family were poorly, Michelle was the first to offer financial support. Now is our time to get behind them and support them.
