Covid-19: Eco Hub Africa Elearning and Homeschool

Dear friend, I am Geofrey Bright Kata, a UWC Costa Rica "14 - 16" Alumni and co-founder of the community school project at the ECO HUB AFRICA Labs and Classes in my home district Kasese, Uganda, East Africa, a Creative Hub where we empower young children to practice and embrace the arts, languages, entrepreneurship, ecological farming and environmental conservation to create solutions to problems affecting their communities through innovation and collaboration.  CAMPAIGN FOCUS: We wish to deliver learning and homeschool support to the Eco Hub Africa students sent home, in March, due to the National Shut down from the Covid 19 Virus in Uganda. We are grateful to those who contributed, earlier this year, towards constructing classrooms that were already being used for classes onsite as shown in this campaign's updates section and on our project's facebook page.  To support our 110 students access education at home, we wish to help them access basic internet connectivity devices such as smartphones/Tablets so that we can continue educating them at home during the lockdown and also to aid them do research at their homes even after school restarts since they can't afford printed book home libraries given the high costs of printed books(Schools in Uganda have been closed for two months already and reopening dates are uncertain with Covid Cases on the rise even with the easing down of the lockdown). Unfortunately, none of our student's families own a smartphone or have access to the internet. And neither do they have the time to homeschool their children without the help of tutors since; *They are always in the fields all day to put food on the table for their families. *Most of them have not been to school before.  Unfortunately, this means that our children lag behind in their learning activities.  HOW CAN YOU JOIN US TO MAKE AN IMPACT:  We already have a Decentralised Solar grid onsite to charge devices, and an internet router to help download educational content on to the devices for the students. We now need your help to purchase mini tablets/smartphones for the families so we can install them with educational programs and Internet Data packages for them to access education online. Any small contribution will help a child access education, a ray of hope in these tough times.   WHAT WILL YOUR CONTRIBUTION BE USED FOR?  50 Android Tablets ($8000) 2 Android Projectors ($1000) Already raised "Class Construction Materials" - ($1000) Each Tablet will be installed with unlimited DreamGalaxy Tv learning software, Duolingo for languages and Tutorials from our teachers at Eco Hub Africa. We would be happy to receive your suggestions in the comments section about other learning software you recommend us to install on the Tablets.   Our team of volunteers and partners Lisa, Tobi, Guillem, Anna, Fynn, Johan and others have identified the value we offer and the need to improve the quality of service such as solar power and android tablets so the children and youth are exposed to science and technology as well as digital creativity such as film making and arts or drawing.  We hope you too find a place in your heart to join us in making the world a better place for all by helping a child have access to education.  (You can also read more about our project and education partners at https://worlds-education.org/en/africa-uganda-majengo/, https://EcoHubAfrica.Com/,  https://wedreamafrica.com/)
