Join Zoe’s Fight: Supporting Her Cancer Journey & Fundraiser

Hi everyone,

As many of you know, Zoe was diagnosed last year with stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer, complicated by a challenging BRAF V600E mutation. Thanks to an early investment in holistic therapies alongside conventional chemotherapy, Zoe initially responded far better than expected, given BRAF-mutated cancers are typically resistant to chemotherapy.

Earlier this year, Zoe underwent an intense 15-hour surgery that successfully removed her tumours with clear margins, resulting in her being declared cancer-free. However, heartbreakingly, the cancer returned aggressively just weeks later, spreading rapidly to her lymph nodes, spine, hip bone, and brain, causing severe pain that prevented her from returning home.

Determined not to give up, Zoe restarted chemotherapy and endured an intensive week of radiation therapy, leaving her physically and mentally exhausted. During her second round of chemotherapy, Zoe became neutropenic, and a kidney infection due to an obstruction quickly escalated into severe sepsis. Doctors feared she might not survive the night, and close family and friends gathered to say their goodbyes. Remarkably, Zoe’s incredible strength and determination pulled her through.
Currently, Zoe is very weak following the sepsis and has lost a lot of muscles due to being bed-bound and the impact of sepsis, steroids, and morphine. She’s unable to stand or walk unaided but is fiercely determined to regain her strength.

Zoe is now preparing to start targeted therapy (BEACON), giving her body a much-needed break from chemotherapy, and doing multiple daily physio sessions to rebuild her strength so she can return home to her family (husband Sam and little ones - Leo (6), Izzy (1) and Odin (1).

To support her body through this critical phase, Zoe’s oncology team has recommended holistic therapies to boost her immune system and manage treatment side effects. Contributions from family, friends and kind-hearted strangers enabled Zoe to invest in these therapies in the 6 months prior to surgery and given the impact these had on her physical health and effectiveness of treatment, we'd like to start these up again (plus oxygen therapy which causes cancer cell stress) with your support as they're sadly not cheap:
IV Vitamin C therapy: £150 per session
Mistletoe therapy: £80 per session
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy: £200 per session
High-quality supplements (vitamin D, curcumin, probiotics, omega-3 etc: £180 per month
Oncothermia: £250 per session

Our initial fundraising target is £10,000, directly funding Zoe’s treatments, supporting her recovery, and helping her rebuild strength during this vital period.
To mark her determination and to celebrate her progress, we'll be taking part in a fun community event to help raise funds and give Zoe a milestone to aim for in her physical rehabilitation:

Inflatable 5K at Windsor Racecourse on October 25, 2025!
This fun-filled event includes bouncing, sliding, and laughing through a giant inflatable obstacle course. Zoe is determined to participate alongside family and friends, aiming to regain her strength over the next three months. You can walk, jog, or run—no experience necessary, just bring smiles and enthusiasm!

‍♂️ Oscar’s 1K-a-Day Challenge for Auntie Zoe
Zoe’s amazing 9-year-old nephew, Oscar, is joining the fight by running 1 kilometre every single day for a whole month to support his Auntie Zoe, who he is so proud of! Oscar wants to support Zoe in getting all the treatments she needs to get better and spend time with her family.

You can support Oscar’s incredible effort by donating to his dedicated fundraiser here: https://gofund.me/787a1549
All proceeds will go toward Zoe’s recovery and integrative care.

We’d love family, friends, and everyone inspired by Zoe’s incredible resilience to join 'Team Zoe'. Whether joining us on the day, supporting Oscar's daily runs, or contributing through a donation, every contribution makes a profound difference.

Thank you for your generosity, kindness, and love. Together, let’s support Zoe as she continues her courageous fight.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Lisa, Zoe & all her family xx
