Dear friends, family and kind-hearted supporters,
Update: I want to thank everyone for their love and generosity during this difficult time. Just a small update, Zack will be going into Sloan on Wednesday for a biopsy of his wrist. This is going to hopefully rule out any possibilities of cancer. As long as this is the case, the next step will be his fibula graft surgery tentatively scheduled for 2/26.
We are reaching out on behalf of Zack Deutsch and his wife, Nicole, who are facing an incredibly difficult journey. Zack has been diagnosed with a giant cell tumor of the bone (wrist), a rare and aggressive condition that requires extensive medical care. This diagnosis has not only impacted his health but has also created significant financial challenges. Zack is going to require what is called a fibula graft in the wrist. This when they will be taking the fibula bone from his leg and moving to his wrist. This will require a hospital stay of approximately 10-14 days at Memorial Sloan Kettering. Following 6 months of recovery time, during which he will be unable to work.
As newlyweds, they should be enjoying the start of life together-but instead, they are navigating hospital visits, treatments and financial uncertainty. Unfortunately, his disability check is not going to cover all the financial needs they share during this time. Nicole is going to need to take time off from work to be at his side.
Why Zack Needs Your Help:
As Zack bravely faces treatment, he is also dealing with overwhelming costs of medical bills, travel expenses for treatments, and loss of income due to being unable to work. While he fights this battle, we want to ensure that financial stress does not become another burden for his shoulders.
Your support can make a difference.
Zack is a fighter, but he can't do this alone. Your generosity will allow him to focus on healing without the added stress of financial hardship. As well as allow his beautiful loving wife to be by his side as much as possible. If you're unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with your network would mean the world to us.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Let's rally around Zack and Nicole and show them they are not alone in this fight!
With gratitude
