Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is a rare, slow-growing cancer that originates in glandular tissues, often in the salivary glands of the neck, mouth, or throat. It can also appear in the breast, skin, lacrimal gland, lung, brain, Bartholin gland, trachea, and paranasal sinuses. ACC is characterized by an aggressive but indolent clinical course, with a high rate of delayed distant metastasis and frequent local recurrence.
