Dad's Fight: Supporting His Parkinson's & Dementia Care
Donation protected
My name is Wendy. I am a caretaker for my dad, Tom. My sister and mom also caretake, and combined we give him 24/7 around-the-clock care.
Five days ago, his Parkinson's caused a Grand Mal seizure, which sent him to the hospital for four days. Upon release, he now cannot walk, talk, or do much of anything on his own. God is so good and has kept us afloat for a long time now, but the financial strain facing us is just too heavy. He now needs a higher level of care, an in-home care team along with family, medical devices, mobility assistance, etc. He does not qualify for VA assistance (no active duty) and his Medicare doesn't include home health. Any donation size will be a blessing and will allow my family to be able to confidently and faithfully give Tom the best care.
Tom has lost so much to Parkinson's and dementia. He was an accomplished guitarist and singer, dedicated every moment of his life to Jesus and sharing the gift of the word with others simply by being a beacon of light and kindness, joy and silliness, genuine care, and absolute faith. We are not giving up and will never leave his side. As my dad always said to me growing up: "Ever forward."
