Please allow me to introduce Victoria Clayton (Vikki)
Loving mother of two, grandmother to 4 and a
wonderful wife for over the last 22years.
In 2020 she suffered a stroke that stole some years of memories.
Then in 2021 she had a bout with shingles.
Followed by breast cancer in 2022 leading to a double mastectomy.

Then in October of 2024 she went in to the ER and was life flighted to a hospital in Colorado Springs with a mass on her Brain.
A biopsy was done a picc line put in and she went home.
The Biopsy came back as a fungal infection, causing phaeohyphomycosis which was later identified as Cladophialophora bantiana .
This fungus has a vary high mortality rate, (70%)partly due to its extraordinarily rarity, only 200 cases recorded since 1959

Vikki has been on what is referred to as fungal chemo. these are oral meds she started with one that with close monitoring was not able to get to a therapeutic level. In March of 2025 Vikki's medication was changed and under close monitoring was kept at a therapeutic level .
May 2025 a new MRI was done, this MRI came back showing the mass is considerably more dense and the fungus is following the needle track from the original biopsy.
The Nero surgeon has said a full craniotomy is the next step Vikki will need to be seen before the surgery and again a few weeks after along with a week stay during the surgery. We are going to take our fifth wheel and have a place we can park, and stay close to the hospital .
We know we will need to be there for at least a month, Past that we don't know.

The surgery was completed . just over a week ago and Amphotericin B through Picc line infusions were started and then paused, due to the kidneys taking a major hit.
Vikki is a fighter, she doesn't stop she pushes herself to remember how to do things. with all the medical that she has dealt with this is by far the hardest she has struggled.
