We are asking that first and foremost everyone please pray for Hali and the doctors that will be caring for her. Hali is currently not able to work and we are in the final stages of opening our restaurant but have no idea how long before she will be able to get in there. She has no health insurance, a 12-year-old daughter, and just like the rest of us, bills coming in that she is struggling to pay. If anyone feels it in their heart and is able, she is needing all the help she can get. If anyone would rather donate elsewhere, we have Cash App $amcd613 or I can meet anyone in our area. She mostly needs help with household bills, gas, and money for food, as we will be traveling to Savannah several times in the upcoming weeks. Anything anyone can help with is more than appreciated. And even if you're not able to donate, the prayers will be just as much appreciated.
Here's what's going on:
As most know, Hali has been having some health problems, but we haven't really put out there what is going on. Hali had some unusual bleeding and pain going on she had been dealing with off and on for several months. On May 5th, I got a call that Hali needed to go to the ER, so off we went. A CT scan was done, and we were told that she had a fibroid on her uterus and to keep the appointment in 2 weeks with her OB that she already had. Well, after 3 more ER visits, they finally admitted her into the hospital. Her hemoglobin had dropped significantly, and she ended up needing 4 blood transfusions. On May 12th, she had a D&C performed, and we thought things were getting better. The next day, she had unusual leg pain, so they did a sonogram to check for blood clots; it was clear. Two days later, after being discharged, her leg was swollen and to the point it hurt to walk. Had another sonogram done... nothing. The following Friday, she got a call from the doctor's office, and he informed her that she had Grade 2 endometrial adenocarcinoma. It was a shock and absolutely scary. The following Wednesday, we went and saw him and came up with a game plan. She needs a hysterectomy, but he would rather her go to a specialist, so that's what we did. Last Tuesday, we drove to Savannah and met with an oncologist OB-GYN who told us she would do the hysterectomy and also remove two of the lymph nodes from the pelvic area to be sure that the cancer had not spread. We will not know a stage until the surgery is done and hoping that the surgery will be the only thing she needs. But then we still have the leg problem that nobody seems to know what it is. The cancer advocate for the hospital has been in touch, and we are supposed to be getting an appointment to try to figure out what's going on with her legs, being it is both of them now. The swelling and the pain is coming and going but mostly coming. Surgery for the hysterectomy is scheduled for June 17th; we go June 11th for pre-op and hopefully some time before then to check on her legs. Anything anyone could possibly do to help her would be an absolute blessing and very much appreciated. Thank you all!
