Supporting Elena
Our beloved friend Elena has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will need to begin chemotherapy as early as next week. The treatment is expected to last around five months, followed by surgery.
As her friends, we have already come together to support her in practical ways: creating a WhatsApp group to help with childcare, meals, transport, and emotional support. However, we believe that financial support is also deeply needed to help Elena and her family face the medical and living expenses she is already encountering and will continue to face in the months ahead.
For this reason, we have created this platform where you can donate directly to Elena’s bank account, allowing her to access the funds immediately and use them where they are most needed.

About Elena
Elena is one of the kindest people we know - deeply appreciative of life and its small moments. She is a devoted friend, a true source of support to many, compassionate, caring, and always thinking of others.
She is a mother of two beautiful children, Omar (4) and Maria (2), and many people in Chania, Crete know her from seeing her walking with them through the city. Elena dedicates herself fully to her children, while her husband works daily in construction to support the family.
Elena is also known as a woman full of passion and presence - a breathwork coach who, before the birth of her younger child, led beautiful breathing walks and tours around Chalepa, sharing hidden gems and the spirit of Chania with visitors. Since the birth of her daughter, Elena has not yet been able to return to this work, as she has devoted all her energy and care to her family.
Elena’s mother lives outside the European Union (Elena is now in Crete, Greece), and due to ongoing visa issues, they have not been able to see each other for many years. Reuniting with her mother has been Elena’s heartfelt wish for a long time, but financial and logistical challenges, especially while raising young children, have made this very difficult. She continues to hope this situation can be resolved.
