Join Us to Help Laura Valles Battle Cancer

On July 7, 2025, Laura Valles was diagnosed with high-grade, neuroendocrine carcinoma—small cell type classified as extensive stage (i.e. Stage 4 Cancer). The cancer has spread to the lymph nodes in the lungs, liver, and bone. An MRI on July 18th confirmed lesions on the brain. Laura began treatment on July 22nd to address the immediate and serious concerns of the lung tumors, with the goal of arresting the spread and possible remission. Laura’s chemotherapy will be completed on or about September 25th. The bone infusions will continue every 87 days until further determinations are made. The immunotherapy infusions will continue once a month for the remainder of Laura’s life.

These treatments are the necessary means to fight this cancer; however, the costs incurred are significant, even after insurance payments. The family and friends of Laura Valles are organizing a benefit event with lunch and prize drawings to be held October 25th at the American Legion Hall in Cumberland, Wisconsin. The event will be from 12 pm to 4 pm. The meal will be a pasta dinner provided by Hilltop with a goodwill offering. There will be music provided by “The Local Guys” band.
