My name is Edgar, and I am starting this fundraiser for my father, Rigoberto Quiroz.

If you know my dad, you know he’s a hardworking man who’s always busy fixing something whether it’s a broken car, a leaky pipe, or helping a neighbor with whatever they need. He’s never been the type to sit still, and he’s certainly never been the type to ask for help.

In May, my dad was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. Those words shook our entire family to the core. On top of the fear and uncertainty that comes with such a diagnosis, we were faced with the reality that my dad does not have health insurance. Because of this, he had no choice but to seek treatment in Mexico, where costs are still far beyond what we could ever imagine covering on our own.

We’re turning to you, our friends, family, community, and even kind strangers for support. Whether it’s $5, $10, or simply sharing this page, any little thing helps. Every contribution will go directly toward giving my dad the chance he deserves to fight and recover.

Rigoberto is more than just a father, he’s a husband, a grandfather, a brother, and a friend. We want nothing more than to see him healthy again, back to his old self, tinkering in the garage or lending a hand to someone in need.
