Help GB Women’s Tag Rugby Reach the World Cup 2026 (Australia)
We are a self-funded team representing Great Britain Women’s Tag Rugby, hoping to travel to Australia in 2026 to compete at the World Cup. The cost of our Journey to the World Cup will total £80,000 and we need your help to make the journey accessible to every one of our players. We believe that money should not be a barrier to participation. Any help counts.
For many of us, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity — but without support, some players may not be able to go. If you’re able to help in any way, we would be incredibly grateful.
Who We Are
We’re a group of ordinary people doing something quite extraordinary.
Alongside training, we are:
Teachers, NHS staff, engineers, physios, and charity workers
Players returning from injury
New mums balancing family life and sport
We train in evenings, travel at weekends, and fund everything ourselves — simply for the privilege of representing our country.
Our Fundraising Target
We are aiming to raise £80,000 to support the squad.
This breaks down to roughly:
£3,000–£4,000 per player
These costs cover:
Flights to Australia
The British and Irish Cup campaign
Accommodation
Playing kit and equipment
Training camps and preparation
Insurance and entry fees
Medical and first aid support
Every donation helps ease the financial pressure and ensures selection is based on ability — not affordability.
Why It Matters
Tag rugby is growing across the UK, with over 30,000 players involved and strong links to grassroots sport.
Your support helps to:
Encourage more women and girls into sport
Support an inclusive and accessible game
Enable committed amateur athletes to compete internationally
Our Story
Each player has their own journey — from returning after injury, to balancing careers, to raising families alongside training.
We’re not full-time athletes. We’re simply a dedicated team doing our best to make the most of an incredible opportunity.
