My amazing husband, Mark Hopper, 41, was diagnosed in March with stage 2 Esophageal Adenocarcinoma. On June 22, during a trip to the emergency department, it was discovered his cancer has metastasized and found 12 new masses in his liver, bringing him to stage 4. He was being treated at the local VA as he is an Airforce Veteran, and outside of palliative care, they cannot do much else for him. We are waiting on a referral for Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, but this takes time I'm afraid we don't have. Our hope is to raise funds to help get him in the door and to assist with travel expenses. Mark is an amazing man whose smile lights up any room. He is truly loved by everyone who knows him. He has shown me what it is to be happy and love myself, and for this, I owe it to him to do everything humanly possible to get the treatment he needs.
Every bit helps! We are forever grateful to all of our family, friends, and strangers that are willing to help this wonderful man live! Thank you!
