Meet Zeus! 14 year old heeler mix. Last year he got diagnosed with 1B heart disease, luckily he got the OK to get a surgery to remove some dead teeth and a couple of masses! It’s been a year and one of the masses he got removed has grown back fast and big. This time around it looks like the mass is cancer, we need to get it removed as soon as possible but there is so many obstacles in our way. His blood work has come back and it looks like blood work looks amazing! First step to getting his cancer removed is accomplished. Second step is to check his heart. We are scheduled to do an echocardiogram to ensure his heart disease has not gotten worse. Once we get that okay we are ready to remove the cancer! We are getting pretty big margins on this mass so he has a long recovery and we are crossing fingers that the doctor will be able to remove all the cancer! Third obstacle is cost, as much as I hate to resort to asking for help I’m in a tight corner. I’m trying to pay for as much of this myself as I possibly can but after spending $800 on his initial visit and getting quoted $4,000 for his entire surgery I am not sure I can do it alone. Anything and everything helps us get the treatment Zeus needs!

01/28/2026 UPDATE: Zeus went in for his cardiologist exam, his heart 1B disease has progressed slightly and the cardiologist has found an arrhythmia, she stated it is not uncommon with dogs who have cancer, so we have started him on medication to help the arrhythmia and she is recommending this medication to be lifelong from now on. The good news is we got the ok to go under anesthesia he has to be on this medication for two weeks to ensure anesthesia can go smoothly and then we can proceed to take the cancer out!!
