Hello, family and friends. I'm Cindy, and I'm humbly asking for your help in supporting my dear sister, Valerie, through her breast cancer diagnosis.

When I think of her, I'm easily reminded of her uplifting spirit, silliness, and selflessness... of tea parties, Barbies, and dress-up... of boy-talk, high school hangouts, and movie nights... of travel to see each other across hundreds of miles, of receiving her reenergizing and reviving hugs, and of safe space. She is one of my best friends and one of the most beautiful humans to ever walk this planet, and she needs our help.

Despite having insurance, medical bills and expenses are piling up. She has met with financial coordinators, physicians, HR representatives with her employer, and cancer specialists- all individuals helping her anticipate upcoming needs, but costs and co-pays are high. She has more than a handful of scans, labs, and exams to complete, including the addition of a subdermal IV port for chemo treatments, before even beginning several rounds of chemotherapy, and then moving on to surgeries and radiation. A cooling cap for chemo treatment will run $1800 out of pocket, alone. I'm sure you can imagine the rest...

So please, join me in helping raise money for her needs. She needs it, she deserves it, and she would do it for any of us, because that's the beautiful human she is. If it means one less Starbucks run for you this week, one less dollar in your pocket, or even one SHARE of this request- anything will go a long way.
