Hello, my name is Paul Robinson, and I have dedicated my life to hard work, my family, and my craft as a career construction worker. I have always taken pride in showing up for those around me—whether it's on the job, in my community, or for my loved ones. I share a passion for life, and my children and grandchildren are the heart of our world.

But life recently threw me a devastating curveball.

My Health Battle

Last July, I was diagnosed with a heart murmur. Despite this, I continued working, even when I probably shouldn’t have. Pushing through has always been my nature. My doctors closely monitored me, hoping I could avoid surgery for a few years.

I walk nearly 10 miles a day and work long 10-hour shifts, which took a toll on my heart faster than expected. What was once manageable quickly became life-threatening, and surgery that doctors had hoped to postpone became an urgent necessity.

Since then, I have undergone multiple surgeries, including my most extensive and grueling heart procedure on September 9, 2024. As much as I want to fight through it like I always have, this time, my body is telling me otherwise. For the first time, I have no choice but to take a long, difficult road to recovery. If I don’t, the consequences could be irreversible.

An Uphill Battle

I never imagined being in a position where I’d have to step away from work indefinitely. As of now, it has been 28 weeks since I received a paycheck, and my family is facing an overwhelming financial burden.

On November 26, I had yet another surgery and now require a life vest 24/7—a wearable defibrillator that presents its own challenges and complications. Every day is a fight, and while I am determined to get back on my feet, I cannot do this alone.
