Leonard was diagnosed with Stage four renal cell carcinoma, which has also turned into metastatic bone disease. He has cancer in almost all his major bones, including his skull bones.

We have a lot of trouble asking people for help, but these bills are killing us. He had a wonderful job which helped us with his insurance until he was terminated due to being unable to return to work. But his job was so wonderful they kept him on FMLA for 20 weeks instead of 12.

When his insurance ended, I was able to put him on my insurance at work. That's when the real nightmare began. This insurance is refusing to pay anything to do with his cancer. His cancer meds alone are $25,197.00 a month. He has not had this medication in 3 weeks because of insurance issues. Never mind everything else that goes with it.

My job was able to get me out of that horrible insurance, but now I am having to get him on COBRA. Which, as everyone knows, is expensive and just covers Leonard. But I don't care about me. It is about him.

People have helped us, and we are forever grateful to everyone who has helped us in one way or another. And I hate to ask for more help, but this is the only thing I can think to do.
