The Power of THREE

Have you ever given much thought to numbers and their meanings? Do you have a favorite number? Well, my favorite number has always been three, but recently, it has become a little less favored. You may wonder why three intrigues me. Well, I married in the 3rd month of the year, my first son was born in the 3rd month of the year, the first grade I taught after graduating college was 3rd grade, and 3 grandchildren have blessed my life (make that 3x2 when my son marries!) However, recently, three has not been so popular with me. My son was recently diagnosed with his…you guessed it…3rd cancer. They range from Hodgkin’s Disease, Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and now Acute Myeloid Leukemia! Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) causes an increase in the production of immature white blood cells with neoplastic characteristics, which lead to bone marrow infiltration. Can you see why the number 3 is a little less favored in my books?

My name is Kay Jones, and I am starting this GoFundMe venture to help our son, Kent Jones, and his fiance’ as they battle this most recent diagnosis. Kent is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments and is not able to work in any capacity. His fiance’ Shawna, has given up her part-time job, comes to the hospital, while leaving little ones with family. The cost of travel, medical expenses and living expenses is mounting daily.
