Julian is the love of my life. My name is Arden. We have been married for just over 7 years. We are raising an 11-year-old. She just started 6th grade.
Our 2024 didn't start out the best. I had to have open-heart surgery for a faulty heart valve. My recovery hasn't been the easiest. Julian was having some eating issues. In April, he was diagnosed with stomach cancer, just two weeks before I went back to work. This has been a blow to us. Every day is up and down. We thought he was finished with chemo to do 5 weeks of radiation, but he has to continue a mild form of chemo with it. As far as we know, nothing has spread. But this Friday, they are doing a lung ultrasound. I'm a little worried about that, but it's in God's hands. He's been hospitalized twice with infection. The second time, this past weekend, showed sepsis, but it was caught in time.
All the while, I am sacrificing work and my health for my family. Several people have come forward to help with groceries, rides, school supplies, and monetary gifts. I have no more sick time or vacation left to take, so my paycheck has been short sometimes, and sometimes I have to pay bills or get groceries on the credit card. Times are really hard because of my health. I can't work a second job, and Julian can't work at all right now. After the radiation, he will have some sort of stomach surgery. I don't know what we are going to do. We have, especially me, totally depending on God's blessings and peace when it's a rough day. Julian is very depressed, and this is the person it's hardest on. Not only meds, sickness, the feeling of not being able to help your family.
We need your help, please, anything to get us through this rough couple of months. I know it's a lot to ask, and I feel very humble in doing so. Please give and pray if you can.
Thanks to all,
Arden and Julian
