Join Us in Uplifting a Dedicated Community Coach

Hi, my fellow Delcoians, if that is even a word (haha). Well, what I am about to tell you is no laughing matter. A dear friend of mine, Jay Borrelli, received some horrible news in mid-August. Jay needs a triple bypass. This is a daunting task for him and his beautiful wife, Destiny. The recovery time is 6-12 weeks minimum. So with surgery scheduled for November 11th, I come to everyone who has allowed and trusted Jay to be a great friend and coach to countless children of ours at St. Cyril's community, Springfield High, and now the Haverford School. Jay is a very proud man. He has worked his whole life and he has worked hard. I met him at the Stry-Buc industry in 1982. About 10 years ago, Jay wanted to go out on his own and be his own boss as a constable with the hope of providing a better life for his wife and 3 very polite and lovely kids. Well, number one, a constable is its own entity, meaning you're self-employed. I remember in 2018, Jay upgraded his vehicle and it’s not cheap to have all the proper equipment installed. Then COVID hit and constables were temporarily out of business. Jay got a job almost immediately with PECO and went back to being a constable in 2022.

So here he is again, facing a tough time once again. I am asking everyone to please do what we do. We have each other's back, and let’s show as much generosity as we can. No amount is small.

Thank you
