Hi everyone, I'm Jason (in the SCA I'm known as Baron Tundryn Jarlsson). I am one of the caretakers/ maintenance guy/ build-it, fix-it dudes at Kings Arrow Ranch. We have put a ton of work into KAR so far this past year; remodeling the condos, replacing the roofs on cabins, revamping several of the RV spots, upgrading the electrical in merchants row, fixing broken water lines, removing the shower house at 5-points in preparation for a new one to be built this summer, stabilizing the kitchen wall which had deteriorated etc. We still have a LOT to do. One of our big struggles this past year has been equipment breakdowns. Tractors in constant need of repair, mowers that needed rebuilt and no real area to work on them. Good news is we are getting a shop built later on this spring. The bad news is we need a couple pieces of equipment to continue the work on fixing and improving our beloved site. We have found a better tractor and a mini excavator that a local gentleman is looking to sell. The price is amazing considering the quality of the machines. But with all the money that has already gone into the ranch so far, Brian and Kim are unable to afford to get them. It's my hope that our community can come together and help. The 2 pieces of equipment will run a total of $15,000. (10k for the tractor, and 5k for the mini excavator). They will be used for bush hogging, digging, trenching water and electrical work, road maintenance and overall site improvements. They will also be available TO RENT for work weekends at a fair price (cheaper than a rental place) and camps won't have to worry about coordination and transportation to and from the rental company). Need to trench a water line in camp? Need to fill in a hole? Need to dig a hole? We'll have the equipment on site. It'll also be nice to have another working tractor on sit for when someone inevitably gets their vehicle stuck in the mud after a thunderstorm. Please consider donating and sharing this far and wide.
