Help Victor Support His Wife During Her Battle with Brain Cancer
Dear friends, family, and compassionate supporters,
I’m reaching out on behalf of my dear friend, Victor, who is currently facing an incredibly challenging time. His beloved wife, Marie, has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma stage 4 brain cancer, and their world has been turned upside down.
In order to be by her side through intensive treatments and doctor visits, Victor has had to take time off work. He is now the primary caregiver.
Marie was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in February and underwent surgery a week after the tumor was discovered. Due to its depth and proximity to the brain's sensory areas, not all of the tumor could be removed. Following the surgery, she underwent six consecutive weeks of chemotherapy and radiation. The surgery resulted in a loss of sensation on her right side, and she is currently undergoing chemotherapy for five days a month over the course of six months.
In addition to her cancer treatment, she has osteoporosis, which has caused five compression fractures in her back. Recently, she also battled shingles, which caused significant pain. On top of these challenges, she was hospitalized and diagnosed with two blood clots in her lungs, requiring her to take blood thinners. Despite facing some of the most difficult physical challenges, she remains incredibly strong.
We have a home health nurse who visits once a week, along with a physical therapist and an occupational therapist.
Currently, Victor is organizing a benefit event on February 8th at the Milaca Legion from 5:30pm-7pm will include a spaghetti dinner and silent auction.
