As some of you may know my Dad, Tim Polidan, was diagnosed with T-PLL (T cell prolymphocytic leukemia) last year. I will explain more about the diagnosis down below. I am creating this GoFundMe account for two reasons, to help spread awareness for this awful rare cancer, and to help my parents along on this journey they are about to embark on.

T-PLL is a rare, clinically aggressive T cell neoplasm composed of lymphoid cells, typically with involvement of the peripheral blood, bone marrow, lymph nodes, and spleen. The name "prolymphocyte" is a misnomer, as the tumor cells in this disease are of post-thymic T cell origin. According to various studies, the median survival time for patients with T-PLL is typically less than two years. However, some patients may live longer with aggressive treatment, like Campath Chemotherapy.

What will the money go towards?

All donations will be sent directly to my parents to help with travel and living expenses. My dad will be getting treatment in Houston, Texas at MD Anderson. This hospital specializes in treatment specifically for TPLL and my mother will be along his side every step of the way. They live in Las Vegas, Nevada so they will need travel and housing for the duration of my dad's treatment in Texas while also maintaining their home in Las Vegas.

What does treatment look like?

Dad will be in Houston at MD Anderson for the first two weeks receiving Campth Chemotherapy. This form of chemo is extremely powerful and complications could arise, this is why Dad will need to be inpatient during the chemo. After 45 years of marriage my mom is determined to be with him for every part of this journey. Once dad completes Campth Chemo, we hope to achieve complete remission. In order to receive Stem Cell Transplant he needs to be in complete remission. Once dad is ready for his transplant he will need to be back at MD Anderson for close monitoring for 3-4 months.

Any denomination is appreciated, times are tough as we ALL know, so if you cannot donate please just share this post. There is SO LITTLE known about T-PLL as it is so rare. We feel fortunate for the opportunity to be seen by the best at MD Anderson. We thank you all for being here during this time. I will post updates on Dad's journey here.
