This fundraiser was created so friends, family, and the community can support the Rubio family as they navigate their son Jagger’s medical journey.

Jagger, the son of Tabatha and Steven Rubio, recently graduated from Penn State University with a master’s degree in accounting. He and his girlfriend, Sophia, moved to Manhattan as they prepared to begin their careers at PwC. Shortly after, he was faced with an unimaginable diagnosis of Diffuse Hemispheric Glioma, a rare and aggressive grade 4 brain cancer.

Despite the reality of chemotherapy, radiation, and researching upcoming clinical trials, Jagger has shown remarkable positivity, strength, and courage that continue to inspire everyone around him.

He has also found his voice by sharing his passion for film through TikTok and his podcasts. These projects bring him moments of light even on the hardest days.

Since his treatment began, his parents have been traveling from Long Island to Manhattan each week to be by his side. The commutes alone are costly with tolls, parking, and hotel stays. Their focus should be on researching next steps, exploring clinical trials, and doing everything possible to slow the progression of this cancer, not on the financial strain that comes with it.

Jagger is currently undergoing radiation and chemotherapy five days a week, which is scheduled to end on December 4. After his treatment and follow-up scans, Tabatha and Steven will determine which clinical trials he will participate in. One option is at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and another is a potential trial on the West Coast at UCLA. These options will require long travel, extended stays, and significant out-of-pocket expenses. While parts of his treatment are covered, there are tests and specialized imaging that are not.

One of Jagger’s dreams is to travel to Italy with his family when he is feeling well enough to enjoy it. He continues to fight with strength, grace, and courage. His family continues to show up for him every single day.
