Meet the Riners!
TJ and Autumn married in March of 2022 and quickly started growing their family. They had their first baby boy (Stetson) in March of 2023, and along came their second baby boy (Cade) in February of 2024.
In November of 2024, they found out they were pregnant again, and later found out it was a third boy! Ecstatic about welcoming another sweet boy into the world, they never imagined they would be where they are now.
On March 23rd, (only 21 weeks pregnant) Autumn went to the doctor to have her anatomy scan done, where they saw that Waylon’s fluid was very low, along with a few measurements that were a little on the smaller side. The doctors told her they would need to be referred to a high-risk hospital in either Huntsville or Birmingham, where they could receive a second opinion. They went home waiting to hear which one they would be able to go to first.
2 days later on March 25th, Autumn woke up around 10:30 that night thinking the worst had happened. She thought she had fluid running down her legs, only to look down and realize it is blood, and it is now pooling at her feet.
In a panic, she wakes up TJ and has family rush over to keep her sweet boys, (who are now only 1 and 2), so TJ can get her to the ER.
The weight is finally lifted off of them when they arrive at the hospital and they are able to hear Waylon’s heart beat! He both looks, and sounds good, so now for the questions. Why is she bleeding?
After many tests and scans, Helen Keller hospital could not determine exactly what was wrong, so they then transfer her to UAB women’s and infants center so she could receive the high-risk care she needed.
Still after more tests, they are all inconclusive and cannot pinpoint exactly what is wrong. After much deliberation, the doctors give her a name for what is going on. PPROM (preterm premature rupture of membranes). They cannot do anything to help this situation, so they are keeping her admitted at UAB to be monitored until Waylon is born. This could be as early as next week, but their prayer is to make it atleast 12 more weeks, there is just no way of knowing.
With this kind of hospital stay, TJ will need to be there as much as possible to be able to stay with her and Waylon, because things could change quickly. They will have their normal expenses, on top of now having to pay for food, daily parking, gas for TJ coming to and from Birmingham for work, and so she can see her precious boys, and many, many medical expenses.
A quote from Autumn is:
“We are blessed to have a God who not only knows what has happened and what will come but who has also held us and heard every prayer. He has given us peace in one of the most scary and unknown situations we’ve ever had to navigate, and knowing that ALL of this will work for HIS glory is all we need to know.”
Thank you for taking the time to read their story, and if you are not financially able to give, please continue to pray for this sweet family and everything that is to come their way.
Additionally, if they receive more donations than they need, Autumn would like to give the remaining balance to someone else who may be going through a similar situation as them.
They have a long road ahead of them, but we have peace knowing the One who is leading us down it.
