Help Us in Supporting the Lopez Family
Donation protected
My family and I are organizing this GoFundMe on behalf of my sister Nicole Lopez's family.
My sister, Nicole Lopez (West), lost her partner, husband and best friend of 21 years, Demetrio "D" Lopez. He unexpectedly passed away at home in Denver, Colo., on Sept. 24, 2024. Through the years, they have built a beautiful family of seven together as they faced incredible life challenges. Now, Nicole faces several difficult, timely decisions. In addition, she is trying to wrap her head (and heart) around what a life looks like without him.
We are looking to those many who knew D to join us in a rally of love and support for Nicole, Demetrio Jr., Precious, Michael, Jazmyn and Bryanna.
D was their world, and they were absolutely his.
One of his biggest joys were taking the family to the park and teaching his kids what he knew about basketball and football. He also shared his passion by coaching at the Boys and Girls Club where the kids attended.
D truly enjoyed following sports. D was an early, dedicated UFC fan (we're talking UFC 20 here, IYKYK). You could always get him talking in a conversation about his favorite fighter, Jon Jones. He was absolutely part of the Raiders Nation. During basketball season, when he wasn't playing, you could find him cheering on the Bulls and Lakers.
Demetrio's spirit was the type of person who would do anything for the people he loved. Whether it was sharing a laugh, that life advice where you just needed a straight, blunt answer — people sought his energy out.
We gratefully accept any size donation in support of the Lopez family. The funds raised will go towards immediate family basic needs, memorial costs, and unexpected expenses while the family prepares to go back to work and school.
We send heartfelt gratitude and thanks in advance for any support you can provide the Lopez family. There is also a Meal Train for those who would like to provide support in other ways: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/874678.
