Hello, old friends and new ones.

If you’ve known me for a while, then you already know Reina (also known as Miette).

Right now, Reina is in the middle of treatment for thyroid cancer and Horner’s syndrome. It’s been tough. The kind of tough that makes work impossible and every day an uphill climb.

I love this person. Deeply. Many of you do too. Reina has always shown up for their people—quietly, fiercely, without asking for much in return. They’ve offered care, art, medicine, laughter, and truth to so many of us.

Now it’s our turn.

If you have the means, please consider donating. If you don’t, send love. Offer something gentle.

And whether or not you do any of that, hold them in your thoughts. Light a candle. Say their name.

They’ve carried a lot for us. Let’s carry a little for them now.
