Join Us in Supporting Pua's Lung Cancer Battle

My name is Sandy Bystrom and I have organized this GoFundMe account, at the request of family and friends, to benefit Kathleen Pualani Chu Janusz (Pua).

Some of you may know Pua best as the face of J. Cousineau’s Dram and Alehouse. Many others know her simply as family or our friend. All of us who have ever been on the receiving end of the love freely given by this extraordinary woman, realize Pua always has room at her table, home, truck and in her heart for each of us. We also know she would happily give the “shirt off her back” if any of us were in need. Sadly, Pua is the one in need currently. Her friends and family are requesting your help.

Most of us are aware that Pua has worked hard her entire life and certainly deserves to relax and enjoy her retirement years, as she is 80 years young! Recently, Pua was told she has Stage 3 Lung Cancer. As we expect, she is approaching the diagnosis and the aggressive treatment plans with the usual spunk and positive attitude she lives by! The treatment plan is a minimum of six weeks and begins September 4th. Her doctors are very hopeful, as are we. We are confident if anyone can beat the “Big C”, it’s Pua.

Due to the rising costs of everything these days (groceries, taxes, gas, housing, auto maintenance, insurance, etc.), Pua can no longer keep up with her minimal SS Income. Social Security is just not keeping up with the true costs of living today. We are requesting her family and friends donate what you can spare to this GoFundMe account which will benefit Pua to help keep her financial worries at bay, so she can concentrate 100% of her effort and strength on fighting this ugly disease.
