Hello, my name is Amanda, and I am a Christian. A few years ago, I went off as a missionary to Mexico, and it changed my life forever. I came back with a deep love for the missionary field. I saw the selflessness, perseverance, and sacrifice that it takes to put God at the forefront of your life in order to spread the good news of the gospel. The reason I decided to go off into the missionary field was because I desired for people to know that Jesus came to set them free and to guide them to that truth. That's actually the thing I love the most about Jesus.
After coming back home from my missions trip, there was an interesting series of events that took place. I came across a documentary that spoke about modern-day slavery in the Pakistan kilns. Basically, what this type of slavery looks like is people are forced to work in very dangerous conditions making bricks and have to meet the impossible quota of the day. The quota, which is impossible to meet, is done so that these people will be indebted to work at the kilns all their lives unless they pay a certain amount of money that they borrowed. This amount is usually a couple of hundred dollars and is many times more than what was initially borrowed by them. These people who take out these loans are easily victimized because they lack education and are very poor, so they cannot read the loan agreement and believe everything they're told, falling victim to lies and deceit. I remember being heartbroken and crying out to God and asking Him if there was any way to even help these people. Shortly, God heard me and answered my prayer by putting Pastor Fayyaz in my path.
For the last 3 years, I've been helping Pastor Fayyaz help the people who are enslaved to work at the kilns. Pastor Fayyaz brings teachers to the kilns so that the children who can't attend school can have an opportunity to get an education and learn about God's love for them. He also helps the widows by organizing events where they bring them to receive things like food and blankets, which they otherwise might not have access to. Pastor Fayyaz has had his scooter stolen, and it's been hard for him to get by because it means he has to move around by foot or, if he's lucky, catch a ride. However, nothing discourages this pastor from continuing on the mission that God put in his heart.
(Family that was living in the kilns for many years. We raised $700 to pay the debt, and now they are living normal lives. All glory to God.)
These last 3 years, I feel blessed and honored to be able to help support Fayyaz. However, I'm turning to the community to help this pastor at a greater level. He needs our support to continue to provide education, food, and money to keep his church running. The people in Pakistan have a deep desire for God that amazes me. This is the reason for me reaching out to the community to help this pastor who wants to do much more for them.
If you feel God is putting it on your heart to give, please do. You will be sowing on solid ground, and there will be a great harvest because of your contribution. Thank you for taking the time to read this petition. God bless you.
John 21:15-17
Jesus said, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”
Simon Peter said, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.” He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.”
