Honoring our beloved Obed Lopez

Hi, my name is Coach Teresa. I’ve had the privilege of coaching and mentoring Obed Lopez since his sophomore year of high school, both on and off the court. It’s with a heavy heart that I share the news of his passing on August 2, 2025. We are all so heartbroken.

As his head coach at El Capitan High School, I witnessed firsthand the kindness, discipline, and infectious spirit Obed brought to every practice and game. He has impacted so many people in his life with love, laughter, and so many memories.

Unplanned loss brings unexpected hardship. With the full support and request of the family, I’m launching this GoFundMe to help cover funeral and memorial costs.
